• Informative visit and tour of production sites of Flavour & Fragrance raw materials
• Practical session applying flavours, fragrances and colours to FMCG products
• A useful, practical introduction to Sensory Evaluation



Course Outcomes

1.     Outcomes expected of the learners who have completed the course:

a.   To possess a basic understanding of the flavour and fragrance industry

b.   To understand the important role of chemistry in the research, creation, compounding and application of flavours and fragrances.

c.   To identify the chemical structures comprising the basic building blocks in flavour and fragrance creation.

d.   To possess a basic overview of analytical methods and instruments, as well as production processes and equipment used in the flavour and fragrance industry.

e.   To be able to apply their knowledge in the analysis and identification of basic flavour and fragrance chemical building blocks

f.     To gain basic operational understanding of the production methods and equipment used in the flavour and fragrance industry.

g.   To possess an elementary understanding of the role of flavours and fragrances in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and other finished products.

h.   To understand the career options for chemical professionals in the flavour and fragrance industry.
